چکیده
Natural fibrehas a good capacity as acoustic insulation materials because of its characteristics, and therefore it is widely used in many applications. This research aims to explore biomass waste from the palm oil mill coconut production materials. Fibre wastes for this study included empty fruit bunch (EFB), mesocarp fibre (MF) coir (CF), which were treated using sodium hydroxide (NaOH) eliminate excess surface impurities. The effect treatment was also considered observe towards sound transmission loss (STL) performance natural fibre. Three varying concentrations NaOH (1%, 2% 3%) treat STL EFB, MF CF measured impedance tube method with four microphones at frequencies 160 Hz 5,000 Hz. Pretreatment on showed decrement diameter changes morphologies after examining scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis. results that had higher performances than untreated increased by increasing tested frequency Changes morphology following pretreatment affected CF. Additionally, obtained highest amongst all test samples.
